Our Purpose:
To Present Christ as Savior and Pursue Christ as Lord
Core Values:
1. We VALUE WORSHIP We believe that it is imperative that we know and attribute worth to God in all we do. Therefore, we will praise, glorify and magnify the name of the Lord in each worship service.
2. We VALUE DISCIPLESHIP We believe that the Bible is God's inspired, perfect Word. Therefore, we will teach and preach the Word of God and hold to biblical doctrine.
3. We VALUE FELLOWSHIP We desire to add to our family of faith. We enjoy spending time together, relating to and enjoying one another's presence. Therefore, we will intentionally invite the unchurched of our community to join us for worship and social activities.
4. We VALUE PRAYER We believe that effectively communicating with God is the key to answered prayer. Jesus died to make a relationship with God possible. Prayer is a part of that relationship. Therefore, we will participate in individual and corporate prayer for one another.
5. We VALUE MINISTRY We believe that ministry is using whatever God has given you to serve Him and the needs of others. Therefore, we encourage an individual approach to ministry. We are convinced that when each member is fulfilling their God given role within the church we will be better equipped to accomplish His role for us in the community.
6. We VALUE EVANGELISM We believe that one reason why God has placed us in this community is to win our friends and neighbors to Christ. Therefore, we will train members for evangelism and challenge them to engage in local, national and international evangelism efforts.
7. We BELIEVE THESE VALUES LEAD TO A GIFTED BODY We believe that a church should operate as a unified community of servants stewarding their spiritual gifts. Therefore, we will seek to help our members discover their uniqueness in Christ and help them find their place of involvement.
Our Vision:
We the members of FBC Granbury, will take specific steps to be a spiritually growing church, reaching the increasing population of Hood County with the message of Christ.
God has blessed our church by allowing us the responsibility of ministering to an ever-growing population. In order to do this effectively, we must plan for the future. The following recommendations from the Long Range Planning Committee have been approved by the church for implementation.
Recommendation #1 We, the members of First Baptist Church, accept the challenge of reaching at least 2% of the Hood County population on a weekly basis, with 1,250 in Bible Study and 1,500 in Worship by the year 2015.
Recommendation #2 The Ministerial Staff will work toward the Spiritual Growth of the Church, "Equipping the Saints" in the areas of Spiritual Giftedness, Worship, Discipleship, Ministry, Prayer and Fellowship that will lead to the Evangelization of Hood County.
Recommendation #3 The Long Range Planning Committee will begin the process of providing a study group to determine the building needs of our church for 1,250 in Bible Study and 1,500 in Worship. Potential areas of study include:
Worship Center
Educational Space
Parking

"They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved." Acts 2:42-47
