About Us:

First Baptist Church was established in Harrison in 1953, after a team of students from Grand Rapids Baptist Bible College  surveyed the neighborhood people  to determine the need and interest for a fundamental, Baptist church in the area.

The work started under the leadership of a missionary pastor, and throughout the years it has become an active, integral part of our community.

The first church building was located in town.  As the congregation grew, and ministry needs increased over the years, the church purchased  land for a larger facility at the present site, eventually expanded the new  building, and over time also added a gym/fellowship hall complex, bus garage, and parsonage to the church grounds.
