Our mission statement is, “The purpose of First Baptist Church is to bring glory to God through worship, the lost and unchurched to God through outreach, people closer to God through discipleship, and to one another through fellowship, and Christ to our community through ministry and service.

About Us:

First Baptist Church was founded in 1889 and remains committed to historic Baptist principles. It is located in the downtown area on the main street of Middlesboro, Kentucky. 

Our church is affiliated with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, and the Kentucky Baptist Fellowship. At First Baptist we take very seriously our responsibilities to one another and to our community. As a church it is our foremost desire to share the love and grace of Christ with the Tri-State area.

FBC Middlesboro has evolved over the past 30 years into an alternative Baptist fellowship distinguished by open communion, ordination of women and acceptance of baptism regardless of mode.

Our church, which is made up of people from many different denominations, is very involved in local ministries.  We enjoy laughing together and we are supportive of each other especially during difficult times. We love each other, and we love God, and we would love for you to join us as we grow in our faith in God together.
