About Us
First Congregational Church has been serving Saginaw since 1857. A downtown, historic church in Italian Romanesque style, FCC is highly regarded by the community and the Michigan Conference of the United Church of Christ. As the only church with a Congregational heritage in the immediate area, members, friends, and visitors come from all corners of Saginaw County. With an active membership of approximately 500, largely well-educated business and professional people, the church is a religious and cultural presence in the city, offering a widely-known music ministry (undergirded by a sixty-seven-rank Skinner organ and seven choirs). Numerous opportunities for Christian service and personal enrichment are also available. We are a strong, healthy urban church.
First gathered in 1857, First Congregational Church has occupied its current building in Saginaw's historic Cathedral District since 1868. Since 1967, First Congregational Church has been affiliated with the United Church of Christ.
