Our Mission:
The Purpose of this Church is to bring people to Jesus and membership in His family; to develop them to Christ-like maturity and equip them for their ministry in the church and their life mission to magnify the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit.

FUMC builds community:
We are a vibrant, diverse congregation that welcomes all those who seek God, embracing differences of age, gender, race, education, economic status or special needs. Our congregation is enhanced by some who travel more than 20 miles. Being part of a Community of Faith as God's people is a blessing! Being trusted with His Ministry together is a blessing. We develop only through active involvement and participation in sharing God's love.

First United Methodist Church is a great place to call home. We, as the Body of Christ, are called to Know Christ and Make Christ Known in Today's World.  To fulfill this mission, we offer ministry opportunities for people of all ages. On any given day, you'll find people involved in Bible study, prayer, worship, small groups, support groups, educational classes, community gatherings including Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, and much much more.

Our goal in all of this is to:
    Help people connect with God and discover the life-transforming power of the grace that comes to those who follow Jesus.
    Provide opportunities to learn about and grow in our understanding of the faith as taught in the Bible.
    Connect with others who are on the same spiritual journey to discover the purpose and meaning that comes from full devotion to Christ.
    Discover and employ our individual gifts, talents and abilities so that the love, forgiveness, healing and the power to really live is communicated through us to a world that needs it so desperately
    Send out in mission, growing, mature and fearless followers of Jesus to be agents of transformation in a world and with the people God cares about so deeply.
    Think more deeply about what it means to be a Christian in today's world and how to meet new challenges
    Discover new resources within ourselves as our faith and spirituality deepen through the sacramental life we share
    Grow together through stimulating classes, reflective prayer, and service to the larger community around us

First United Methodist Church is truly a family rich in relationships that matter most. We are excited to share with you the wonderful ways God is working in our church. We have full program of activities for children, youth, music, Bible study and much more! Our mission at FUMC is to lead people to a relationship with Jesus Christ and grow together in serving God and fulfilling His will in our lives.  Within the First United Methodist Church, you will find relevant and ongoing ministries to children, youth and all age levels as well as to people in any stage or season in life.  Click on the Ministries tab or the Small Groups tab to find out more.

Child Care: Child Care is available during church, Sunday school and various activities for infants through age three.

    Children: Our children's programs include Children's Church (3-11 years), Sunday school, Children's Choir, and other fun activities.

    Youth: Come experience FUMC Youth where we focus on real worship, real relationships and real life.  (6th - 12th grade)

Music: Our music ministry is a time of fun and fellowship with each other as we provide a service for our church.
