In 1894, the local people in this area organized a church. On October 5, 1895, the United Brethren Church building was purchased for the new Methodist place of worship, thus establishing the "First Methodist Episcopal Church South", in Azle with Rev. This church was part of a three point circuit, (meaning one pastor served three churches), that included Dido and Harwell's Chapel. Some time later, Peden replaced Dido and Harwell's chapel was replaced by Silver Creek.
