First United Methodist Church, Belleville, desires to be a large and growing faith community, who through passionate prayer and worship is intentionally seeking God’s vision to be in mission with the people of the Republic County area, who have been faced with an aging and declining population. 

We believe God has called and empowered our church, through faithful living and courageous service, to be an agent of transformation for the people, the church, the community, and the world; giving new life and hope through our Lord Jesus. We believe the Holy Spirit will use us through our ministry, our God given resources, and our connection to the larger United Methodist faith to be a blessing to others.

Therefore, we will be a congregation dedicated to a life of prayer. We will be a congregation which centers our lives on Christ - who is our head. We will be a congregation which will be guided by faithful study of the Holy Bible. We will be a congregation which gathers to worship God with hearts warmed and minds open - we will praise our Creator and expect to encounter God in our worship.
