The festival celebrates the fiber heritage of northern Minnesota while showcasing local fiber producers and artists. A range of workshops taught by fiber artists make fiber art and craft technique accessible to anyone. Come join us for a fun, fiber-filled weekend, take a class (or many), shop for yarns, fiber or art, enjoy the beautiful northern Minnesota countryside and meet the farmers who produce the fibers that make our clothing, arts and crafts possible.
This festival is part of a larger endeavor to revitalize the sheep and fiber industry in northern Minnesota. The Sustainable Sheep and Fiber Community of Northern Minnesota includes the Fosston Fiber Festival in the Fall and the Small Scale Sustainable Sheep Farming Event third Saturday in February yearly. Both events are made possible in part by grants from Northwest Minnesota Foundation and Northwest Regional Sustainable Development Partnership.
