Mission Statement:
Genoa Charter Township maintains this web site in an effort to keep our residents informed of township development and activities as they relate to our position as one of the fastest growing communities in the State of Michigan.
History:
Genoa Township is located in south central Michigan between the cities of Brighton and Howell. The Grand River corridor and Interstate 96 provide direct access to our business district. We are centrally and strategically located within 45 miles of Detroit, Lansing, Ann Arbor, Flint and Toledo.
Genoa Township is governed by an elected seven member board. The board is made up of a Supervisor, Clerk, Treasurer and four Trustees. The board generally meets on the first and third Monday of every month at 7:00 p.m. to consider petitions on site plans, rezoning and other related township business. Minutes from those meetings are published in both the Brighton Argus and the Livingston County Press.
