About Us
The Georgia Food Bank, Inc. is a non profit community food bank with 501c-3 status from The Internal Revenue Service. We operate as a "Food Bank" supplying food, health and beauty aids, and emergency relief supplies to other non profit and human services related organizations throughout the Southeastern United States. We also operate as a "Food Pantry" supplying economically disadvantaged families with the essential food and medicinal products they need to assist them in living healthier lives. We do this by receiving donations from major manufacturers from all over the United States and shipping them to our facility in Tallapoosa, Georgia for redistribution through one of our various programs.
Operating as an "Independent Food Bank" we are not restricted by the proverbial "Territorial Boundaries" that most traditional food banks must adhere to. This enables us to get assistance to any family, any organization, anywhere that our assistance is needed.
Whether handing out prepared food boxes at our facility, conducting a food drop at a local church or pantry in your area or supplying emergency medical relief supplies to storm victims, The Georgia Food Bank is always there, always ready!
