Mission:
When we hear the word 'missions' it seems we generally visualize an individual taking the gospel message to a distant land. Or perhaps we think of some remote people group that has been isolated from the rest of the world. Why is it that the unreached nations and the missionaries who live amongst them seem to always be the initial focus? We believe it is crucial for one to understand that God is a mission-minded God. Missions exists for the sole purpose of declaring the glory of Christ amongst the unreached peoples of the earth. God places above all things the glory of His name, and He cries out to the nations to leave their wicked ways and bring Him the worship due His name. The absence of God-centered worship amongst the unreached peoples is the foundation of our mission ministry.
It is because God is a mission-minded God that we joyfully strive to proclaim the riches of His glory to the nations. Our desire is to create a passion for the pleasure of God's presence amongst these unreached peoples of the world. God has ordained for this to happen through the declaration of His Word. "How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, 'How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news'"
It is our desire to be actively involved in taking the gospel message to the ends of the earth. We believe that as the truth of Scripture is declared, the Holy Spirit is faithful in drawing men to Christ. We hold dear to the promise recorded by the Apostle John: "After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could count, from every nation and all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb,…and they cry out with a loud voice, saying, 'Salvation to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb'"
We believe the promise of that heavenly reality was purchased on the cross, and God is raising up His Church to take the message of this precious promise to the ends of the earth. May our prayers affirm the words of the eighteenth-century missionary David Brainerd "that the kingdom of the dear Savior might come with power, and the healing waters of the sanctuary spread far and wide for the healing of the nations."
