Owners Nathan and Irma Bailey opened Great Valley Farm Brewery in October of 2016. However, the process took years of planning. They purchased the land that the farm brewery is on in 2008 and the plan was to plant a vineyard on the property in the future. A dream that was realized in 2012, when the Bailey’s moved to Virginia (from North Carolina). The vineyard now consists of 4 acres of wine grapes, which are sold to local wineries and occasionally used in the beer. At the same time the vineyard was being established, they also started to seriously consider opening a brewery. Nathan was a long-time homebrewer and avid craft beer lover. By 2015, the plans were solidified and construction was started on the brewery.
