Greater Latrobe Senior High School

131 High School Road
724-539-4225

Greater Latrobe Senior High School is a state-of-the-art educational facility incorporating the best academic and technological initiatives currently available. The building has undergone a $36 million renovation, completed in 2004.

At present, students are required to complete twenty-six (26) credits for eligibility to graduate. A total of 19.5 credits are required in core curriculum subjects and 5.5 credits from a diversified field of elective programs. Students also earn one credit for demonstrating proficiency on the Pennsylvania State Standardized Assessment (PSSA). All students must successfully complete a graduation project to receive their diploma.

The curriculum at the senior high school is both diverse and challenging, boasting ten (10) AP courses as well as a wide range of non-academic electives in business, art, music, technology education, and family and consumer science. Students who desire a technical career have the opportunity to take classes at the eastern Westmoreland Career and Technology Center.

In addition, the educational program has an extensive directory of community resource support. For example, local business and industry leaders support the business department curriculum through participation in mock interviews and nine career fairs. In art and family and consumer sciences, the McFeely-Rogers Foundation supports ongoing programs involving field studies and student interaction with professionals working in those fields.

One of the most unique features of the senior high school is the original art collection of over 185 works that line the halls and corridors of the building. The collection, started over 60 years ago, is entirely student-selected, and, for the most part, student-purchased. It is one of the finest collections of 20th and 21st century Southwestern Pennsylvania art on display.

The diversity and rigor of our curriculum prepare students for any future endeavor they may choose. As a result, over 80% of our graduates go on to post secondary education (4 year college, community college or trade school).
