Mission:
Seeking to put God's love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build HOMES, COMMUNITIES, and HOPE.
Vision:
A world where everyone has a decent place to live.
About Us:
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Plainfield and Middlesex County is an independent affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a non-profit, Christian ecumenical housing ministry based in Americus, Georgia.
There are 1,500 affiliates in the United States and over 200 affiliates overseas -- in Africa, India, Eastern Europe, Australia and New Zealand. The purpose of Habitat for Humanity is to remove poverty housing and homelessness from the face of the earth by building basic but decent housing.
Habitat began in 1976, as founder Millard Fuller and his wife Linda left a life of material wealth to dedicate their lives to this housing ministry.
Locally, our Greater Plainfield affiliate began in 1989. We have built 37 homes. The Middlesex County affiliate began in 1994, and they built 4 homes. In May 2015, the two affiliates merged together in order to better impact our local communities.
Overseas, Habitat of Plainfield/Middlesex has sent over $194,000 in tithe donations to Habitat for Humanity International's global efforts, resulting in approximately 78 homes built internationally.
