Welcome to Tallassee, Alabama, "the Treasure on the Tallapoosa". We are a small but growing town in south central Alabama. We are strategically located 10 minutes from I-85, 20 minutes to Auburn and the State Capitol of Montgomery. Tallassee is the industrial core of Elmore county. Our Public City School System continually out ranks all neighboring systems. Our natural resources are bountiful with the Tallapoosa river running through the heart of Tallassee. Lake Martin is in our back yard. Hunting, fishing, and all types of outdoor activities are easily available.

We are in the beginning stages of developing the Riverfront and Entertainment district. This area will include an amphitheater, museum, Creek Indian heritage, walking paths and a hotel and conference.
