In order to create a conducive space for the study and practice of the dharma, we plan to build a permanent monastery in the traditional Tibetan style for the Cincinnati community. GSL Monastery purchased 8.5 acres of land in Colerain Township (3046 Pavlova Drive) in December 2007. A new gompa (meditation space or temple) will be built on the grounds according to traditional Tibetan architectural design using modern eco friendly sustainable building methods. There will also be a private residence for resident monks, visiting teachers and community center.
The new monastery will continue to support all levels of students from serious practitioners to those who are exploring the Buddhist teachings perhaps for the first time. It will also serve as a cultural destination in the Tristate area -- a place for people of all ages to experience and learn about Tibetan culture.
