History:
Goats and Hagler Farm go hand in hand. This land has had goats living on it off and on for over 100 years. It all began when Roy's great-grandfather Dr. W.Q. Hagler started to raise goats. This tradition carried through to his son Roy G. Hagler who raised a large number of goats. Then to Roy's father who also raised goats when he was just a boy. After we got married, we got a few goats and have raised them ever since. We had brush goats for 17 years before we started raising purebred Nubians. The first purebred Nubian we purchased was a buck to replace our old brush goat, "Charlie", who passed away at the age of 14 1/2 years. After we went to our first show, we were hooked. We have now raised Nubians for over 7 years
We currently have anywhere from 20 to 30 goats living on the farm. This number varies with the time of the year. All of our kids are bottle fed and are often fed better than the people taking care of them. Here at Hagler Farm we love our animals, we take care of them and they take care of us.
