Mission Statement
The educational system of this state is challenged today, as never before, in the responsibility for preparing our children to live and work ina world that is changing constantly. The State of Texas is moving through a period of dramatic change in economic conditions that affect the lives of all of us as well as the nation as a whole.
To meet this challenge, all students must develop essential academic skills and knowledge of how to use them. All students will be taught the core curriculum as mandated by the laws of our state. All students must also be taught citizenship, economic responsibilities, and an appreciation of our common American heritage as well as the rights of others. Students will be provided the opportunity to develop the ability to think logically, independently and creatively, and to communicate effectively. A system that can educate our children to be productive in a changing future must be characterized by quality, equity, accountability and trust.
Instruction must be provided at the highest levels of quality.
Educational opportunity and resources must be distributed with equity for all students.
The educational system must maintain accountability for demonstrated results and continuous improvement.
There must be mutual trust and cooperation between parents, teachers and administrators to benefit the whole student.
