Meetings
When: First Thursday of every month at 6:30pm
Where: Hancock Clubhouse
Mission
Our mission is to encourage and support a wide range of boating activities, grow membership, hold events, help the community and to maintain the clubhouse for the recreational and social use of its members. The Hancock Yacht Club is a year-round boating club that provides both new and experienced sail and power boaters with a like-minded group of folks who enjoy the water.
Hancock Yacht Club was established in 1956 as a boating club and our goal is to spread the word that we are truly a boating club, not just a sailing club. We are located at the beautiful Hancock Marina aboard Marine Corps Air Station, Cherry Point. We are open to all military service personnel as well as civilian members.
History
Hancock Yacht Club in North Carolina was established in 1956 by several Marines as a social organization for recreational boating. We are the oldest private organization aboard MCAS and the oldest yacht club in the Marine Corps. We are also a sustaining member of the U.S. Sailing Association.
For more than 50 years, we have supported competitive sailing on the Neuse River and have been sponsoring a yearly regatta since the 1960's. This is the oldest regatta on the Neuse River.
