Shipshewana, LaGrange County is the 3rd largest Amish community in the country. As you travel through the county, you will notice the various barns and quilts the county is famous for. The area is full of shopping, dining, and sightseeing experiences for all to enjoy! You won't want to miss this show!
Lyle and Dale have graciously offered to host the show in their auction venue. We will occupy the smaller of the two rooms for our display area and the larger room being used for the auctions. A dinner will be served Friday evening, courtesy of the Chupps.
This year's show will have two auctions. The Friday auction will be our typical auction for all the items brought to the show to be auctioned. The Saturday auction will be for cataloged items. Any items in this auction need to be in Chupp's hands no later than May 1st These "cataloged" items will be photographed and inserted into the "catalog" and advertised ahead of time. BOTH of these auction will carry a 15% fee. This is different from past auctions but is standard for auction houses. Lyle and Dale have been kind enough to provide the site for the show and are also providing a free dinner to all of the show attendees. They work very hard at their auctions and are always successful at bringing a lot of buyers to the auction.
The auction house has plenty of tables, chairs, and carts and there is ample room inside for displays. For those who want to vend only, there is covered room outside if the interior fills up. As always, custom displays are up to the individual collector. A great deal of collectors reside in this general area, so this should be a great show to see your fellow collectors and meet a lot of new collectors as well.
