Herculaneum Historical Society meets monthly on the first Thursday of each month. The meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. and are held at Herculaneum City Hall, #1 Parkwood Court, Herculaneum. For information, 636 475-5476 or 636 475-3080.




The Herculaneum Historical Society meetings are open to anyone with an interest in the history of Herculaneum and the surrounding area.

Meetings generally feature a guest speaker discussing some historical topic of the area. Past presenters have spoken about the Herculaneum cemeteries, the Douglass Elementary School, Lewis & Clark, herbology and pioneer medicines, historical weather occurrences, the Masonic Lodge, the Mississippi River & Bonne Terre Railroad, the Bonne Terre Farming & Cattle Company, area lead mines, steamboat disasters, Civil War Captain Buxton, etc.
