We believe

Through the Bible we learn Who God is and discover His love, care, and concern for us. We learn that we can have a personal relationship with God through salvation. The Bible, man's roadmap for the Christian life, provides a new and better way to live, the way our Creator designed especially for us.

History:

Looking at High Point Baptist Chapel today with 206 magnificent acres of land, an ever-growing congregation and numerous outreach ministries, it is easy to forget the humble beginnings of the "little church in the country." Church Beginnings : While visiting the Morgantown, Pennsylvania area in the early part of 1958, Pastor William Park, Sr. and Mr. Robert Cone recognized the community's need for a fundamental church. Pastor Park and his wife left their successful ministry in Huntington Valley, Pennsylvania, to begin this new venture for the Lord. The El-Mor Chevrolet Company housed the Thursday night Bible study that would become the nucleus of the church. A series of tent meetings introduced the new ministry to the community. On December 10, 1958, the church purchased the 173-acre High Point Farm. Services were held in the farm's manor house until July of 1959 when the hayloft of the barn was converted to a 70-seat chapel. The church was officially chartered in February of 1960. High Point Chapel became High Point Baptist Chapel in July of 1964, and one year later moved to a new church building with seating for 250, nursery facilities and six classrooms. The parsonage, built on a hill overlooking the chapel building and campgrounds, was completed about the same time.
