Over the years we have seen God do great things here. Our church has touched people's lives right here in Phoenix as well as around the globe.
In August of 1979, Immanuel Bible Church was born.
Meeting in a homes and then in a school, the infant congregation of 7 grew. By 1985 the congregation purchased land on which they could build adequate facilities and give the church a permanent home.
Over the years the church grew steadily and slowly, with many members moving into full-time Christian work themselves being sponsored and sent out by Immanuel. In 1997, with a congregation of 125, the church added to its facilities a new sanctuary which would house more than twice its size. God continued to add to the church. Each year since 2000, the church has multiplied and expended.
The last five years have seen Immanuel's greatest growth in it's history. The church added two to the pastoral staff in 2002, Pastor Roger Schultz, who had been faithfully serving and ministering with his wife Jan for 14 years, and a youth pastor, Josh Matteson. In November of 2003, the church suffered the loss of her beloved Pastor Roger who went on to glory. In honor of his faithfulness and dedication as Sunday School Superintendent and Associate Pastor, the people of Immanuel chose to name a future new church facility after him - The Roger J Schultz Education Building.
Here, in 2005, the church is still experiencing a great work of God. The growth of Immanuel has prompted to continue to develop our present facilities in order to have room to grow and minister here in Phoenix.
In the words of well-known hymn, to God be the glory, great things He hath done!
