About Us:
Immanuel Lutheran was at one time a German Speaking Church at the turn of the century. Some of the families in our church were here three or four generations ago.
We believe in Jesus Christ. Immanuel's pastor and congregation, while understanding that we live in new and changing times, yet believe that the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is a timeless Truth which is the power unto salvation.
We believe the Bible is the rule and norm for all practice and faith. We believe that the Book of Concord, is the true exhibition of the Bible. All the teachings of Scripture are honored by us. We are a Biblically conservative church, which understands and rejects modern/post- modern interpretations of Scripture. We consider the Bible without errors (inerrant) and written by the Prophets and Apostles, who were inspired by God the Holy Ghost (inspiration). We are a Lutheran congregation which adheres to the Lutheran confessions, as written in the Book of Concord of 1580 as the true exposition of Holy Scripture.
The focus of our worship, our teaching, our practice is the Word of God, the Holy Bible, Baptism and the Lord's Supper. And through these means, God offers and strengthens our faith.
We are a liturgical church. While we understand that many who were not brought up in a church with a traditional liturgy and hymns are unfamiliar with our service at first. On the other hand, we promote and teach the rich heritage and beautiful church music which the Church has received. We seek to educate others about the Biblical worship of the Church. So we therefore gladly and in an evangelical way promote traditional liturgical worship and hymnody which has served the church for thousands of years.
