Mission:
Indian Orchard Elementary School offers an environment that is caring and a staff that is committed to giving all students who attend our school the best education possible. We work to foster students who are eager to learn.
About Us:
Indian Orchard is a School wide Positive Behavior Supports school. PBIS is based on principles of applied behavior analysis and the prevention approach and values of positive behavior support. There are many incentives created in order to support this program like the Tiger’s Den and Shopper Showcase.
We have many educational programs at Indian Orchard Elementary School that are aimed at improving our students’ academic performance. We run a tutoring program, paid out of our Title I money, before and after school hours in the areas of Math and Reading. The program is offered to students in grades 2-5. IOE ran a 2014 Summer Reading Clinic for grades K-1. Targeted interventions for at-risk students are provided in ELA and/or Math. We match the intervention with each student’s need in order to help close the gap that exists in their learning. Currently the DESE (Department of Elementary and Secondary Education) has determined Indian Orchard to be a Level 3 school.
Indian Orchard’s Instructional Focus is:
At IOE we speak and write to explain our thinking.
