About Us :
Johnson County School District, is a progressive school district located in northeast Wyoming. The school district encompasses the entire area of Johnson County, consisting of 4,166 square miles. The county population is currently around 7700 people, with the largest concentrations in Buffalo and Kaycee. Buffalo sits at the intersections of Interstate 25, Interstate 90 and US Highway 16 and is set against the backdrop of the breathtaking Big Horn Mountains. Kaycee is more centrally located and is just 68 miles from Casper, one of the larger cities Wyoming has to offer.
Recognizing the changing nature of education and the need to utilize modern research, technology and learning theory, Johnson County School District is committed to a strong and active program of staff development encouraging professional growth.
Johnson County draws its students primarily from agriculture and energy related business families.
