About Us:

The Jonathan Alder School Distinct is a progressive rural district, composed of 120 square miles located in the northern section of Madison County and southeastern section of Union County. Our district stretches from near State Route 33 on the north, to near Interstate 70 on the South. Our district is part of the Madison/Champaign County School System. Being located in the center of Dublin, Hilliard, and Marysville, all rapid growth areas, making district growth in the near future a certainty.

We have two pre-kindergarten through fifth grade buildings. Plain City Elementary is our largest building, housing about 550 students, draws students from the Village of Plain City and from the northern part of the district. Monroe elementary is located in Plumwood and is our smallest building of a little over 330 students, drawing from the southern side of the district.

Our other two buildings are located near the center of the school district, about 4 miles south of Plain City on Route 42. Canaan Middle School houses sixth, seventh, and eighth graders with an enrollment of approximately 430 students. Jonathan Alder High School is a four year comprehensive high school, accredited by the North Central Association, with an enrollment of around 500 students, with some of that number attending the Tolles Technical Center located one half mile south of the high school. The offices of the Superintendent and the Treasurer are located in the high school building.
