KABA is the lead business organization that drives economic development throughout Kenosha County and supports and provides services to its members and the community to ensure quality growth, a robust economy and a positive business climate for the Kenosha area.
KABA, as it exists today, was created in 1996 through the merger of the Kenosha Area Development Corporation and the Kenosha Area Manufacturers and Employers Association. Predecessor organizations can be traced back to the Greater Kenosha Development Corporation, which was founded in 1983.
Whatever the name, the organization has been a critical player in the community’s economic development since the early 1980s. In addition to financing numerous projects for expanding or relocating businesses, KABA has also worked with the City of Kenosha, the Village of Pleasant Prairie, Kenosha County, and Wispark LLC to establish the Business Park of Kenosha and Lakeview Corporate Park as the premiere business locations in Southeast Wisconsin.
In 1996, the Kenosha Area Business Alliance Foundation, Inc. was formed to develop education initiatives with local schools to increase graduation rates, improve the overall quality of education, and foster the best educational system in the state.
