The Laconia Heritage Commission, established in 2003, appointed five full-time members (one a member of Laconia City Council) and three alternate members on February 25, 2008.
The commission meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month presently at 5 p.m. in Room 200B, Laconia City Hall, 45 Beacon Street East, Laconia, NH 03246
In the interests of matters affecting local cultural and historic resources, the Laconia Heritage Commission has advisory review authority to survey and inventory cultural resources, enlist volunteers to assist with survey and inventory, assist the Planning Board as requested in the development and review of those sections in the Master Plan affected, advise agencies or boards in review of requests on matters affected, coordinate activities with service organizations and non-profit groups, publicize its activities, serve as the Demolition Review Committee, and hold meetings and hearings necessary to carry out its duties.
