Founded in 1987, the Coalition's mission is to promote increased liteeracy in Lake County through added finanacial support of the Adult and Family Literacy Programs of the Lake County Library.  It is an independent, state-charted non-profit 501(c3) which over its 30 year history has finacially supported the recruitment and training of more than 1450 volunteer tutors who have helped more than 2,500 learners work to achieve their personal literary goals.
