Lake Forest Symphony is a critically acclaimed local treasure and the only fully professional orchestra in Lake County. The Symphony was named Illinois Orchestra of the Year in 2006 by the Illinois Council of Orchestras, just one year after Music Director Alan Heatherington was named Illinois Conductor of the Year. The Lake Forest Symphony offers a classical concert season of ten concerts on five weekends during the fall, winter and spring, plus an annual Youth Concert.
The Symphony will celebrate its 50th anniversary season in 2007-2008!
The Symphony also operates a highly regarded Music School featuring a faculty of some of the finest musicians and music teachers in the region. Classes are offered in all orchestra instruments plus voice, saxophone, guitar and piano. Early childhood music education programs are also available including Music Together and Exploring Music.
