The League of Women Voters of Palm Beach County officially came into being in 2005 with the merger of the South Palm Beach County and West Palm Beach Area Leagues.

The West Palm Beach Area League had been in existence for over 52 years, the South Palm Beach League since 1958. The merger of the two Leagues allows us to serve the entire county in a consistent manner, and to reach out to all areas of the county.

We are a nonpartisan political organization that encourages political responsibility through informed and active participation of citizens in government. We focus on issues and actively promote legislation that further League principles. However, a firm rule guiding all Leagues is complete independence from political parties. We never endorse candidates. We encourage people to vote.
