About Us:

Leander Parks and Recreation operates and maintains 7 parks (180 acres).  Facilities include: a junior Olympic-size swimming pool, water playscape, 2 lighted multi-purpose athletic fields, lighted basketball court, 4 soccer/football fields, softball/baseball fields, amphitheater, trails, picnic areas, 3 pavilions, BMX track, skate park, disc golf course, 4 playscapes, 5 restrooms, and one concession building.

Leander Parks and Recreation also offers recreation programs and special events including: Full Moon Concert Series, Movies in the Park, Holiday Tree Lighting (and Christmas Tree Recycling after Christmas), Kite Festival, Spring Egg-Stravaganza, Liberty Fest, Bluegrass Festival, Active Adult Day Trips, Children's Spring and Summer Day Camps, Fitness Classes, and Public Swimming and Swim Lessons.

Mission:

To manage and maintain City parks and facilities.  To provide recreation programs and events that enhance the quality of life in Leander for all age groups.  To expand the parks and recreation system to accommodate  the needs of our growing community, and to provide and maintain the cleanliness of City buildings through our janitorial services employees.
