About Us:
Lighthouse is a multigenerational, multicultural, growing church in Southern Indiana. People of like passion and faith have brought their individual ships to a "Light" seen on the horizon that has said we can no longer be satisfied with church as usual. There is a compelling desire to break the paradigm of generations of religious people who wanted everything to remain the same. Sameness is another term for stagnation and stagnation is another term for lukewarmness. It is this same spirit that has built walls in the church for years and caused it to become irrelevant to today's body piercing, bungee jumping, head banging, now generation.
Though it is not popular with the main stream of today's religious society, we choose to go against the normal established patterns of religion. We are determined to make a difference in our city, state, nation and the world. It is with a steady hand and a determined heart that we have accepted the mandate to change the Lordship over this region.
If you are tired of church as usual with that same old religious rhetoric, yet have not seen a church move into a new day with new ways then you owe it to yourself to come see what the Lord is doing at LCF. May God bless you in your pursuit for Him!
Our Belief:
The Bible is true, eternal, and infallible, inspired by God, and applicable to every area of our lives. Second Timothy 3:16, First Corinthians 2:13
The Trinity is a great mystery of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Three distinct persons, yet One; distinguishable, but indivisible. Matthew 28:19, Second Corinthians 13:13
Humanity was created by God to walk in pure relationship with Him; fell into sin by disobedience in the Garden of Eden; and was left completely unable to restore that relationship through human ability. Romans 5:12, 18
Jesus.was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. Was fully God and fully man, as perfectly able to sin as Adam was perfectly able to remain sinless. By His sinless life, selfless death, and miraculous resurrection, Jesus paid the price for our sins and restored us to life with our Father. He is active in our lives today, while seated at the right hand of God, and will come again to earth one day. Luke 1:26-35, John 1:18, Isaiah 7:14, 9:6, First Corinthians 15:1-4, Romans 4:25, John 14:2,3
The Holy Spirit. is active and present today. He is still the Helper, Counselor, and Comforter of our lives. He continues to manifest Himself among God's people just as He is described in the book of Acts and other New Testament books, testifying always of Jesus, who points us back to our Father. John 14:26, Acts 11:16, First Corinthians 12:3, Titus 3:5, Second Peter 1:21.
The Church is God's vehicle for displaying His glory and expressing His government on the earth. It is His plan since the beginning of time. With Jesus as the Head and we as the members of His Body, the Church is being established for the glory of God and the purposes of eternity. The Church universal includes all God's people who have ever lived or will live, and it is expressed through a multitude of local church congregations in the earth. Hebrews 12:22,
Ephesians 3:10, Colossians 1:18, Revelation 21:2
We believe these are the main points of discussion which relate to orthodox Christianity. Yet there are also other distinctives we adhere to as a church. If you are interested in learning more about our convictions, our style of worship, or our application of these truths to daily life, please come and visit a service. We would love to meet you.
