About
Lafourche Full Gospel Church was founded by Paul & Alice Cormier in 1952. Brother Paul began having services in local homes, a bar called The Jungle Inn, and in Frank & Hilda Naquin's dance hall. By 1953 they had raised enough money to purchase land and build a church.
In 1963 Jimmy & Jeanie Barousse became the Pastors, and founded the Annual Missions Conference.
In September 1971, Eno & Lurie Dantin accepted the invitation to become the Pastors of Lafourche Full Gospel Church. Brother Dantin, received a prophecy in 1964 through the ministry of Rev. David Schock of Long Beach, California stating that God was sending him to "the land of his father." It was no surprise when God opened the door of ministry in Golden Meadow, the home place of his father.
In 1988 land was purchased in Galliano to build a new sanctuary. In 1994 the first phase of the new building was started, and in April 1995 the congregation held their first service. New Year's Eve 1999 the second phase was completed, and the first service was held in their new sanctuary. Construction began on the Family Center in 2001 and completed April 2002. Later that year the church was renamed Lighthouse Worship Center.
