Longfellow Elementary School is proud to be part of Inspiring Excellence in Wheaton-Warrenville Community School District 200.  Our school is a nationally recognized 2007 Blue Ribbon School!  Longfellow School is a kindergarten through fifth grade building, rich in history, located in downtown Wheaton.  The original building was built in 1874 as a grade and high school combined and was named Central School.  Many famous graduates attended Central School including Edwin P.Hubble and Red Grange.  The school went through many additions and changes and our current building was completed in 2001.

At Longfellow School we offer many opportunities for students to grow in their learning.  We have a diverse student population and currently have families that speak over twenty different languages.  Student learning at Longfellow is a partnership between students, parents and the staff to provide an outstanding educational environment.  By working together, our students learn and grow academically, behaviorally and socially.  In addition to the core academics of language arts, mathematics, social studies, science and health, we offer art, general music and daily physical education.  Our fifth grade students may elect to participate in a band or orchestra program as well.
