Elementary School is to provide a safe and caring environment, where as a community we encourage love of learning as a lifelong process, respect for self and others, and commitment to the preservation of the environment
We believe our school is a special place for learning where all children are first. We provide a healthy climate that encourages optimal personal and academic achievement. The Marcus Newcomb Elementary School educates approximately 700 students in grades five and six. There are four enrichment classes (two fifth and two sixth-grade), eight special education classes, five fifth grade classes, three resource centers, and nineteen sixth grade classes.
The students change classes during the school day, thus receiving exposure to different teacher and teaching styles. The teachers' schedules have been modified to encourage collaboration on their shared students' needs. With the exciting new programs and our excellent and talented teachers, our hope is that our students will excel and grow to their fullest potential. Students at Newcomb feel free to express themselves, question, wonder, develop, and grow. Our Mission Statement, which was developed in collaboration with teachers, staff, and parents, best expresses the philosophy and goals of the Marcus Newcomb Elementary School.
