The Margaret M. Pierce Elementary School was opened in 1932. It was known as the John Barton Payne High School.
Years later, the Bealeton High School was built to serve secondary level students. Then this school was renamed Remington Elementary School. In 1980, a new wing was added to the original structure. The entire complex was renamed in honor of its principal, Miss Margaret M. Pierce. In 1997, two new wings were built to replace the 1932 building.
Today, Pierce School serves preschool through fifth grade, with an enrollment of over 500 students.
