About Us:

Nestled in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains, Mari-Linn is a K-8 school within the North Santiam School District.  Serving the communities of Lyons, Mehama, and Stayton we have an approximate enrollment of 210 students.  We have one classroom teacher per grade with an average class size of 24 students.   During the 2008-09 school year our students met Adequate Yearly Progress and received an Outstanding grade on the Oregon State Report Card. 

Mari-Linn is a Positive Behavior Support school with three rules:  Be Responsible, Be Respectful, and Be Safe.  Matrices of expected behaviors are posted in every classroom and common area, including our cafeteria, library, computer lab, hallways, and restrooms.  Students are recognized for exhibiting these behaviors individually, as a class, and as a whole school.  Honor Dollars, our tangible rewards, earn students chances to spin our Wheel of Destiny at our monthly PBS assemblies, shop at our Honor Dollar Store, and participate in our middle school Frolics.  Other rewards include having a special lunch with the principal,  assist the PE teacher, a popcorn party for the class, Mari-Linn T-shirt, and a host of other fabulous prizes!
