Who we are
Established in 2009, the Marshfield Child Advocacy Center (MCAC) is a support organization for children and adolescents who have been abused or have suffered some form of trauma. The MCAC multi-specialty team is trained to meet the complex needs of children who are potential or confirmed victims of abuse, including physical and sexual abuse, neglect, or were witness to violence. Its members include a board certified pediatrician, social workers, and trauma education specialists.
What we do
The primary goal of MCAC is to foster healthy and happy children and families. The MCAC facilitates a multidisciplinary team (MDT) between the central Wisconsin law enforcement, criminal justice, child protective service, medical and other agencies to optimize child abuse case management and outcomes. We offer a comprehensive community response to the investigation, treatment, and prosecution of child abuse cases and trauma in a child-focused and friendly environment. For children experiencing complex trauma, we provide high quality, comprehensive, multi-specialty health services through the resilience clinic, regardless of insurance coverage. We also provide support for parents and caregivers through the Wrap-Around services.
