Mission:
The mission of the Mechanicsburg Area School District through the collaborative efforts of students, staff, parents, and the community is:
To promote relentlessly the processes of acquiring and applying knowledge,skills, and attitudes required for all students to become lifelong learners;
To provide a safe and supportive learning environment for all students;
To address the diversity of each student's needs;
To instill in every student the worthiness of being a self-disciplined, responsible, contributing member of a rapidly-changing global society.
We Believe
All students can succeed, if appropriate instructional practices are used and adequate support given.
Students need to use the processes of acquiring and applying knowledge, as well as learn factual information.
The methods used to assess student performance determine what students and teachers view as important in the learning process.
Technology is very important as a vehicle for enhancing student learning and preparation for the world of work.
Education must be related to future career goals and provide students with the "tools" for lifelong learning.
Responsibility for education is shared by students, parents, teachers, administrators and the community.
Students must learn to work cooperatively in the learning process, as well as be competitive when appropriate.
Students learn in a variety of ways, therefore an assortment of instructional techniques must be used.
The educational process should nurture student movement toward self-discipline, self-motivation, and self-direction.
