Mental Health America of Summit County (formerly known as the Mental Health Association) is dedicated to helping ALL people live mentally healthier lives. An affiliate of National Mental Health America, we represent a growing movement of Americans who promote mental wellness for the health and well-being of our community – everyday and in times of crisis.
Mental Health America's programs help it to fulfill its mission of "promoting mental health, preventing mental disorders and achieving victory over mental illness through advocacy, education, research and services."
The goals of our programs are to educate the public, encourage reform and promote the use of effective local and regional prevention and recovery programs.
We advance our mission by:
* Educating the public about ways to preserve and strengthen its mental health;
* Fighting for access to effective care and an end to discrimination against people with mental and addictive disorders;
* Fostering innovation in research, practice, services and policy; and
* Providing support to individuals and families living with mental health and substance use problems.
