About
D.W. Burch has called Huntsville “home” for most of his life. His passion for painting and drawing was apparent by early childhood. In high school, he was awarded a scholarship to study at the Alabama School of Fine Arts in Birmingham. Dan has continued to develop his skills in a variety of mediums including oils, pastels, charcoal, pen and ink, clay, concrete, wood, bronze and iron.
Dan sees the art in the textures and structures that create the ordinary of the world around us. Dan’s subjects vary as widely as his mediums, from figure painting and sculpture in the tradition of the “old world masters” to his moody, realistic landscapes painted “plein air” from his trusty old canoe.
