Messiah's Mission Statement: “To share the good news of Jesus Christ and to invite all to join us in faith, worship, and service.”
What we Believe:: The Lutheran movement began in 1517 when Martin Luther posted the 95 Theses on the door of the church in Wittenberg, Germany calling for the correction of errors in the medieval church. Lutheranism teaches that a person is saved only by the grace of God through the Holy Spirit and faith in Jesus Christ.
The Lutheran Church acknowledges Jesus as Lord and Savior and the Bible as revealing God's will. Holy Baptism and Holy Communion (the Lord's Supper) are the two sacraments - sacred acts of Christ, giving grace - that Lutherans celebrate. Lutherans are a community of people that gather regularly to baptize, commune, and speak the word of God, then go forth to spread the Good News of God's love and to serve others.
