History:

School has always been important to the citizens of Midway. From the earliest days school has been held in various buildings throughout the community. Finally in 1912 a new sturdy school house made of native rock was completed . It was located on the town square and served the community well until growth necessitated the construction of a new building which was completed in 1975. This is the building still in use at this time although, once again, growth required an addition to be constructed. This new addition was completed in 1997 and has doubled the size of the school. Currently there are over 650 students attending the school in grades K - 5.
