About us:

Mitchell Main Street and Beyond is an economic development program specifically targeted to provide technical assistance to Mitchell's historic commercial district. The downtown has a unique sense of place which, as part of a national trend, is becoming increasingly popular as a place to do business, shop, dine, live and experience family activities. MMSB is a member of the National Main Street Center, a subsidiary of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Founded in 1980, the NMSC's "Four-Point Approach" of Organization, Design, Promotion and Economic Restructuring has been successfully utilized in over 1600 downtowns in 40 states.

We take pride in presenting a clean downtown with many opportunities to discover Mitchell's historical roots while creating a wonderful atmosphere to shop, eat, work and play. With each event MMSB is a part of, our organization gives back to other local non-profits, instilling a community of value.

Our organization is dependent upon its many volunteers, members, partnerships and liasons within the city of Mitchell in creating a brick and mortar business climate within the downtown area. The many business and building owners within the historic district do indeed make Mitchell's Main Street a great place to Shop. Dine. Live. Experience.
