Monadnock Regional Middle School serves the students living in the eight towns of the Monadnock Regional School District, a member of SAU #38. These southwestern New Hampshire communities are Fitzwilliam, Gilsum, Richmond, Roxbury, Sullivan, Surry, Troy and the Swanzeys (see Community Links). Monadnock was established as a Junior-Senior High School in 1962 when the district was founded, and named after the local landmark, Mount Monadnock. Monadnock Regional Middle School, while still sharing facilities with Monadnock Regional High School, was given autonomy in 2005. MRMS is located on Old Homestead Highway in Swanzey Center, five miles from Keene, New Hampshire. Average enrollment is 400 students.
