The Monette Church of Christ has been in existence, off and on, since the early 1890s. The first building was a small frame structure painted white except for the front, which, for some unknown reason, was painted blue; therefore it was referred to as the Little Blue Front Church of Christ. It stood on some ground which is now the oldest section of the Monette City Cemetery. In August of 1939, a group of Christians who had been meeting in homes for several years began searching for a permanent meeting place. The Christian Church building, which was not being used and was in great need of extensive repairs, was rented for $5.00 per month, and became the new home of the Monette Church of Christ. This facility served the purposes for this church until the early 1960s when it was remodeled. In 1965, the Poplar Ridge Church of Christ (just west of town) decided to unite with the Monette Church of Christ in the newly remodeled building. The church family continued to grow and prosper. On October 13, 1975, the current auditorium was begun. The present facility was dedicated on April 18, 1976.
