Montessori in Redlands is a private, nonprofit school that offers outstanding education to more than 315 children ages 18 months through 9th grade.
Our goal is to help develop the intellect, character, and spirit of each child so that they become capable, confident, and responsible members of our community. We have served children and their families in Redlands, California and the surrounding communities for more than 30 years.
Founded in 1976, Montessori in Redlands is located in the Inland Empire of Southern California. The school facility sits on 12 acres of historic grapefruit grove surrounded by the San Bernardino and San Gabriel Mountains. The school moved to its present location surrounded by citrus groves in 1991. This peaceful location reflects the Montessori philosophy to be one with nature.
All Toddler, Primary, and Elementary programs are accredited by the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) and all Montessori teachers have received teaching credentials from an AMI-approved training center. AMI consultants provide periodic evaluations of the school to assure its adherence to AMI standards. The school is also accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). The Montessori curriculum exceeds the State of California requirements for private elementary education.
Montessori in Redlands is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation governed by a Board of Trustees and directed by an administrator. The school is funded primarily by tuition, fees, annual giving, donations, and grants. We attempt to provide for a diverse economic population by subsidizing tuition costs through financial aid when possible. MIR follows the Montessori tradition of fostering, honoring and encouraging ethnic diversity. We have an international staff representing all parts of the globe.
