History:
Methodist Church services have been held in Wayne County, Kentucky since 1802.  Our congregation at MUMC can trace its roots to as early as 1823.  Services were held in various locations in or near Monticello until around the turn of the century when land for a church was purchased on Michigan Avenue in Monticello.

A brick church building was constructed, and the first services were held in this building on June 18, 1905.  Services were held in this building until a new building was constructed on the same property in 1974. This building continues to serve our church today.

The Monticello United Methodist Church is affiliated with the Kentucky United Methodist Church conference and the global United Methodist Church.
